Many people suffer from work related stress, often people who suffer from stress assume it is caused by work: home life after all isn’t meant to be stressful.
Your home life though is stressful and often you have a lot more emotion invested in family relationships, relationships with partners and friendships than you do in work. As for those people who are housewife’s or househusbands this is their work life that crosses over with personal life but it can be stressful for the same reasons as work. Often as a housewife or househusband you push yourself very hard, you set yourself more work than you can handle and people, namely your family, expect too much from you. Despite all of this you may well rarely feel you are rewarded and appreciation may be lacking as well and you may feel taken for granted, this is the same as in any job and can be highly de-motivating and cause stress. The added stress causing factor for a housewife or househusband though is that they cannot change jobs usually and therefore feel trapped and that your potential is being lost.

Relationships, especially with a partners can cause a great deal of stress, again there are the same factors of feeling under appreciated and like with a job if you expected a lot from it when it was new a relationship can become very disappointing no matter how hard you work at it.
